Makeup by Kim Porter & Her Goody Bag FAB-ulously Chic Summer Soiree

After going to the curlBox/Karen’s Body Beautiful meet up I’ve been committed to getting up and getting out more. When I saw that my friend Kim Porter of Makeup by Kim Porter was teaming up with Janique of Her Goody Bag, I knew I had an event I couldn’t miss.
Being held at Shic By Soketah, I’m excited to finally see the salon I know Kim has been patronizing religiously for years. I’m also slowly falling in love with this area of Brooklyn, so an event here? I’m there. I’ve seen Her Goody Bag around the internets before, but after seeing that Kim was partnering up with the site, my interest was definitely piqued. So, I visited, perused and fell in love. It’s definitely one of my new guilty pleasures. It’s a fashion blog sprinkled with amazing lifestyle posts. Kim has long been one of my favorite bloggers (specifically her mommy blog Beauty and the Bump which I religiously checked during her pregnancy) and I’m definitely not surprised that she’d partner up with Janique after seeing her blog.
Now, I go through my makeup phases, but makeup has never been something I was ever extra concerned about. My “always running late” lifestyle is not conducive to putting on face before leaving the house no matter how quickly I can learn to do it. My current personal usage aside, when I have extra funds, my haunting spots at the mall are always Sephora, H&M and Forever21…. without fail. Clothes, clothes, and oddly enough some makeup lol. With that in mind, this event is all the way up my alley……*insert pause at your discression*.
In particular, I’m extra excited about the mini makeovers, express manicures and styling tips this event will provide. Aaaand there’s a goody bag (praying for some coupon codes and makeup samples!)! Considering I’m beginning to build my blogs presence and establish my brand, I’m fully aware of how important presentation is. Considering I AM my brand, I couldn’t be more excited to see what all I can benefit from attending this meetup. Attendance is free so add your name to the wait list (the event is already sold out!!!
