Beat Shrinkage In A Rush!

collage

Ok. Many of you are well aware that punctual isn’t something I’m good at. I’m always in a rush. But this morning I had to cowash my hair. It was really dry and dull looking and there was no way I was leaving my house looking a mess.  My hair is in that in between length. It’s still too short to pull it up into a respectable bun, but because of shrinkage, I don’t like to wear it as a wet fro. What’s a girl to do?!

Happy 1st Birthday curlBox!!!

0

IMG_3571 This month, curlBox celebrated it’s first birthday! I remember reading about curlBox on twitter over a year ago. Being newly natural, it was right up my alley. I didn’t have a regimen (honestly, I still don’t), didn’t know where to start with products and I wasn’t quite sure what to do with my hair period. I jumped right in and a year later I can’t see myself not being apart of this movement. Over this first year, curlBox has introduced me to so many brands, products and people that have been influential in my hair care and life in general. Between Myliek’s constant inspiration, the curlspiration and dope curlfriends I’ve found through the curlBox Instagram, the information and fun reads on the curlBlog and the support and info on the curlBox Twitter I can’t imagine how different my curly girl experience would have been without them! I’m the type of girl that gets bored easily and a year later, I’ve gotta say every box has excited me; the hype is real, ya’ll. Myleik constantly finds a way to keep the curlBox experience fresh, relevant and above all, a quality experience. I don’t know about you, but I work hard for my dollars and I value my time. Neither has ever been wasted with curlBox. So I’m wishing Myleik and all the amazing ladies that make curlBox as phenomenal as it is a happy HAPPY first birthday! Cheers to a job well done and to many more years of success <3

Ouidad Curl Recovery Product Review!!

I got my hands on some great new product guys!! Ouidad sent me both their Curl Recovery Ultra Nourishing Cleansing Oil and Curl Recovery Whipped Curls Daily Conditioner & Styling Primer. Now, ya’ll already know how I feel about Ouidad. I’ve had nothing but success with their products thus far. But rest assured that I’ll give you my honest review. Let’s get into it.

Curl Recovery Ultra Nourishing Cleansing Oil

photo 3 (1)

For one it smells like heaven. After my share of product swaps at hair meet ups, I can assure you that you’re not the only person who won’t use a product because of its smell. This stuff smells like unicorns and happiness in a bottle and I was really excited to use it. The main purpose of the brands first oil based cleanser is to remove dirt from root to tip gently and while restoring moisture; leaving your hair soft, shinny and full of body. Now for the fancy stuff inside: Ouidad CR-4 Repair Complex, Mafura Butter & Kalahari Melon Seed Oil. All of this awesome uses fatty acids to coat our hair shaft, along with coconut oil and silk protein. Together, they serve as hydrating and protecting agents helping to resist damage.
