Shaqisdope – 2 Up Feat. Nyemiah Supreme

0

So by now most of you know I’ve been in a few videos. Nothing that’s been on TV, but mostly to support my friends and artists I truly believe in. About a month ago, I was in another video with Nyemiah Supreme (as part of her crew, of course). This song in particular had Nyemiah as a feature. The video is for this cute lil young thang Shaqisdope. And he really is dope. Check out some of my behind the scenes pics and of course the feature presentation his video 2 Up feat. Nyemiah Supreme. Also make sure to check out both artists on the Twittas and let them know what you think @Shaqisdope @NyemiahSupreme

W.I.L.T.W.I.I.Y. Elle Varner – Perfectly Imperfect

0

Besides being one of my curl crushes, I love this woman’s voice and something about her makes me feel like I’d get along with her in real life. From watching her interviews to listening to her breakdown the album on Spotify, she’s become quite the friend in my head. I’m shocked to hear someone as beautiful and talented as her was ever bullied, but it makes me all the more curious about her.  I don’t know why hearing that the same things I let burdeon my life happen to this beautiful woman makes me feel like less of a loser, but it does. I mean if someone can find something about this bombshell to pick at or not accept, I don’t feel as bad about my shortcommings. But I digress a bit. I’m in love with Elle Varner’s new album Perfectly Imperfect.

I first heard of Elle on Vh1 Soul watching her “Only Wana Give It To You” video featuring J. Cole. From there, it was a wrap. I found her mixtape Conversational Lush on Kid Fury’s site and that sealed the deal for me. After confirming via Spotify that I loved her debut album Perfectly Imperfect, I went ahead and purchased it. It’s been on repeat all week. So, on to my breakdown of my favorites….

It’s My Birthday Bitches!!!!

0

I love birthdays, mine in particular. I’ve had some great birthday’s in my life but I gotta say this was probably the best.

I got off of work and as I pulled into the Pathmark parking lot I got a call from my little brother (he’s really a grown ass 21 year old with a job). He asked if I was home yet and when I replied with where I was he said “ok, good do that”. I figured he had something planned but whatev ya know?

So I get home and as I’m parking I’m looking for his car. I’d totally forgotten that my dad told me it was being repaired and he was driving my moms. As soon as I got to the lawn, I saw the boy get out the car with a gift bag! PRESENTS!! I was hype! Little does the boy know, but he’s one of my favorite people. We argue a lot, and can go long periods of time without speaking, but I love him SO much and it kills me when we go too long on bad terms. We got inside and low and behold, the kid got me a bottle of redberry Ciroc! It happens to be one of my faves. I poured our drinks, we ate crab legs (if you don’t already know, it’s my favorite food only because I can eat inhumane amounts in a week) and watched Drive. After the movie, we watched and laughed over an episode of Guy Code. Best birthday ever. He was the first call I got for my birthday, and the first gift (I’m single and 27. It’s very likely to be my only gift lol) I received. I’m really easy to please. Good times, movies, laughs; I don’t need much to be genuinely happy. It’s really all about the simple joys in life. Besides the fact I’m on a strong foot to thirty, I couldn’t be happier. lol Thanks for making my birthday freakin awesome B. Love you.

Thank you to all of you who shouted me out on Facebook, Twitter, via text messages and calls. All of your love and support really lets me revel in how blessed I truly am. Any day reflecting on your blessings is a great day. I ain’t mad at all. <3

My Makeup By Kim Porter & Her Goody Bag Fabulously Chic Summer Soiree Experience

0

I had such a great time at the FABulously Chic Summer Soiree event last week! It was great to see Kim again, and I was fortunate enough to meet some other equally amazing ladies that night as well. I got there on time, and was happy to be able to wait for the start of the event indoors. I hate waiting for ANYTHING, so I wasn’t exactly tickled to have to wait, but we’d had another warm summer day that day, and a seat inside was more than welcomed.

When we we were formally welcomed in to the start of the event, I was happily the first lady to get a free manicure! Amaaaazing feature of the event. Can’t say enough how much I loved this! I was in need of one, and was more than pleased to discover a new line, DIOSA Nails & Polish. While the friendly technician worked on my hands, I got a chance to speak with the beautiful founder of the company Diana L. Long.
