I’ve raved to you all plenty of times before about one of my favorite accessory lines to frequent, and nothing has changed! I’m still a go hard for Absynia! In the wee hours of this morning/late last night Elle, the self-taught designer behind the line released Absynia.com! This new site is your one stop location for any and everything you could want Absynia. Social media, shopping, events, sales; anything related to this boho and ethnic inspired line of jewelry, vintage fashion and home decor for both men and women can be found here.
Especially exciting now, is the release of this fall’s 2012 Sankofa collection. Inspired by the African diaspora and cultures within, Absynia is a well crafted family of one of a kind handmade pieces that still maintain a global appeal. Elles’ designs are fashioned to stand out and ensure that you don’t blend in with the “trendy” pieces that you often see everyone else laden in. An Absynia piece is not simply stylish and affordable, it’s cruelty free, hand crafted and high quality.Read More»
Swag me the hell on out. My first private invite *insert smoothest of dougies here*. This event was nothing short of classy.
As Maya and I stepped off the elevator we were greeted by the lovely ladies of Ouidad to check us in and two of my personal favorite naturals Myleik and Saniyyah! I sat with Monique, one of the stylists at the salon and we talked about a few items in their product line. I had plenty of questions, but this night in particular was all about their Curl Co-Wash and Mongongo Oil.Read More»

I sat for about five our six hours last Wednesday and got box braids and I love them. I just wanted to share with you guys what I’ve learned along the way and a few things to look out for if you’re considering a similar protective style.
In prep for this protective style, I deep conditioned my hair with my current favorite deep conditioner Carol’s Daughter Moni Repairing Hair Mask. After detangling my conditioned hair with my wide tooth comb in the shower, I realized that if I were to put on the shower cap and just go to sleep, I’d wake up with tangled hair again the next morning. I decided to undertake my second two strand twist that night at midnight.Read More»
